Extraction is accomplished by first preparing the skin with antiseptic alcohol solution. The pore over the sebaceous material is enlarged with a sharp instrument usually a needle or a scalpel. The material inside the cyst is then expressed with firm gentle pressure. A small dressing if needed is placed over the area.
